Katie's "Rant and Roll" Party & Book Launch Wednesday, April 8th, 7pm RED Canoe Studio: 57 Devon Road (Coach House), Toronto
Join us to celebrate the publishing of my new book, "The Happy Well-Fed Artist," in an evening featuring a medley of "artist rants," music, mask, poetry and stories...
I'll read from my new book, which celebrates the creative spirit, and issues a clarion call for all of you who yearn to embrace your artist self more fully. But mostly I'll be rant up a storm...and ask others to join in the fun. We'll vent on the issues that have us fired up through this raucous art form where nothing is sacred, creating a healing space through voicing the hidden. Artist friends will join me, bringing a smorgasbord of creative offerings.
Cover Charge: $20 or Pay-What-You-Can
KIND WORDS ABOUT MY RANTS "Katie's 'rants' break down the walls - both inner and outer - that keep some of our most difficult emotions locked inside. By touching on topics, feelings and taboos - personal and social - we fear exploring she creates the conditions not only for expressing all of who we are and what we experience as 'difficult', she helps heal the spaces within and between us. Her fierce but loving honesty helps keep us all truthful and real." Marilyn C.J.Daniels, founder of Sacred Enterprise,
"Katie, you have the ability to slip into our self protected stuffiness and bring laughter,...sometimes shock...yet in catching us unaware you then draw from your magic jester pixie dust just the right blend of drama - and sneak in just the needed emphasis of laughter by each of us as we watch some of the individual and group junk wooshed away with your broom ...and all this with an amazing sense of right timing..." William Chase
